Acupuncture for Dogs and Cats
Accelerate healing. Decrease pain. Live better.
Our clinic offers a complementary and alternative approach to pet health and wellness. We balance the conventional Western approach to veterinary medicine with holistic practices including acupuncture and homeopathy.
Holistic therapies offer non-traditional options for animals that do not respond satisfactorily to typical Western veterinary treatments.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the practice of inserting very fine, sterile needles into strategic places in the body known as acupuncture points. Research has shown that these acupuncture points have increased numbers of small blood vessels, nerve endings, and lymphatic vessels when compared to surrounding tissues.
The insertion of the acupuncture needles stimulates the nervous system, increases blood circulation to an area, and releases endorphins and other substances which are the body’s own pain relievers, anti-inflammatory agents, and immune system stimulants. Acupuncture can be combined with other traditional forms of medical care to achieve optimal health.

Conventional Western medicine looks at these bodily reactions as symptoms and fights to suppress or counteract them. Homeopathy, on the other hand, sees them as indications of the body’s attempts to eliminate the pathogen or toxin and to heal itself. While the immediate causes, such as infection, are not ignored, the focus of homeopathic medicine is to strengthen the patient’s natural defenses and restore healthy balance to the body.
