The Team

We have a wonderful group of people dedicated to the best care possible for animals and their owners!

Dr. Geagan

Veterinarian

Dr. Geagan is originally from Montpelier, Vermont. She obtained a B.S. in Biology from Fordham University in 1987 and her Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania in 1991. She moved to the Capital District upon graduation and joined a mixed practice to continue her interests in small animal medicine, surgery, and dairy production medicine. After thirteen years here, Dr. Geagan relocated to Madison, WI and spent 3 years working at a 24-hour small animal emergency clinic, before returning back to the capital region. Though she misses emergency medicine she prefers serving clients and patients consistently over the course of their lifetimes and values those relationships highly. She lives with her family, including two recent Niskayuna High graduates, two dogs, and two cats. When not at work, she can be found bicycling, camping and kayaking with her family.

Jennifer

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Jennifer is originally from Buffalo, NY and has loved animals for as long as she can remember. She attended a specialty middle school built at the local zoo then continued working at the zoo throughout high school. She attended Syracuse University for her Bachelors of Science in Biology and after finishing school moved to California where she started her career as a veterinary technician. She moved back east in 2000 to be closer to family and lived in Niskayuna for 10 years, where both of her children graduated from Nisky schools.

She has worked in many types of clinics, from a single doctor practice to large 10 doctor practices. The patients were mostly cats and dogs but occasionally she got to work with pocket pets, reptiles, raptors and pigs.

After 24 years as a technician she still loves creating relationships with pets and their families.

When not at work she can be found in the gym, training for triathlons, camping, hiking or hanging out at home with her family that includes her spouse, two children, 2 dogs, 2 cats and a ferret.

Danielle

Practice Manager

From scrubbing kennels and stocking shelves all the way to management, she has experience in all aspects of a veterinary practice and boarding. She completed her AA in Business from Ashford University and loves to attend veterinary education seminars. She celebrates 20 years in the Veterinary field in 2020.

Danielle is a Capital District native, having grown up in Rotterdam and currently resides in Colonie with her husband and two gorgeous felines named Salem and Coraline. They recently lost their tri-paw Rottweiler, Kaiah this year.  They will be looking to open their hearts and home to another dog soon.

Fun Facts:

During a trip to Seattle in 2018, she stumbled upon the growing sport of axe throwing and has been competing in local leagues since. During the COVID quarantine, she met and played virtually against people all over the world, including The United States, Canada, Ireland, Australia and the UK from her own backyard.

She loves traveling and being in nature. Whether it be camping or boating in the Adirondacks or off- roading through the Rocky Mountains, she always feels at home outdoors.

If Danielle didn’t end up in the veterinary profession, she would have likely been a professional party planner. She rarely turns down a chance to help someone create a baby shower, birthday party or even a wedding as the need arises.

Danielle has a life long love {mild obsession} of Halloween and historical scary places. She transforms the indoor and outdoor of her home into different spook-tacular settings every year.

Julia

Receptionist/Assistant

Julia is a 4th year undergraduate student at the University at Albany as a Biology major. She recently applied to veterinary school and hopes to matriculate into a program next Fall. Julia has worked in various small animal practices for about 4 years, and would not trade it for the world! Outside of her academic and work schedules, she enjoys painting and spending time with her cat Phineas.

Nicole

Assistant

Nicole has worked in the animal care arena for over 15 years. It goes without saying that her true love is to help our animal friends, as well as help educate/guide pet parents. She is a kitty mother of 8 (bruce is with me in the picture). We also have a guinea pig and a crested gecko in the family. I enjoy reading and learning about the world around me and of course spending time with family (two and four legged). When not at work she loves being outdoors and exploring nature and hiking.
